McKay’s Music Movement, a 501(c)3 non-profit, is working to expand a children’s music program to Georgetown Guyana, as a summer camp for inner-city youths.

“Guyana currently has a population of 750,000 people with a crime rate four times higher than the US. This program will create a safe zone as well as a challenging environment to stimulate students minds.”

The summer camp will be offered June 1st, 2017 to August 31st, 2017 and students will be provided drums, piano, trumpet, trombone, tuba, music composition, and comprehension classes and performance workshops. Children will also have the opportunity to explore careers within the music field and a chance to exhibit their talent at the end of the program during a summer gala.

We will also provide assistance to students seeking to apply for college and scholarships. Any of our students accepted to a college within the US will peer with one of our mentors who will work with them one-on-one and help them throughout college.

100% of the proceeds from the fundraising campaign will be used to cover the cost of running the summer camp. Ultimately these funds will ensure the cost of attendance is free for our students. By sharing our campaign and donating your money, time, products or services to McKay’s Music Movement you will be empowering the next generation of leaders with the ability to embrace and nourish their creativity.
